Flatliners Remake Moving Forward, Attracts Two Leads

Flatliners

A remake of Joel Schumacher’s Flatliners has long been discussed but little movement has been made on actually getting the project off the ground. Until recently, that is.

We have just learned via The Wrap that the redux has added two stars to its roster. Ellen Page (Inception) was previously announced and the latest round of updates suggests that Diego Luna (Elysium) is in negotiations to appear opposite Page. The core cast will feature a total of three women and two men.

Niels Arden Oplev (Mr. Robot) will helm with Ben Ripley (Source Code) assuming screenwriting duties. The project is expected to commence production this Summer.

Flatliners follows a group of medical students who conduct a series of experiments where they intentionally flatline for a short time, only to be resuscitated by their cohorts, moments later. But, predictably, things don’t go as planned and the aspiring physicians get more than they bargained for.
