The Predator Nabs A Cinematographer

Predator Sequel Movie

Details on Shane Black’s upcoming sequel The Predator are slowly leaking out, with the release date, certain cast members and plot points revealed over the past few months. Now, the flick has a cinematographer attached. Find out who after the jump.

According to SlashFilm, Larry Fong (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Super 8 and the upcoming Kong: Skull Island) has signed on as cinematographer for the upcoming sequel/reboot. So, if nothing else, at least The Predator should look great.

The movie is due in theaters on February 9, 2018. Olivia Munn is set to star in the rated-R flick, as a scientist, opposite Boyd Holbrook’s Special Forces Commando. Black is directing from a script by the legendary Fred Dekker.

Shane Black told ComingSoon that the Predator will be getting some serious upgrades in terms of costume design, as well as abilities.

We still don’t know if Arnold Schwarzenegger will be returning to the series or not. However, if he does, it will likely only be in a cameo role. We do know that Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson has suggested that he is in talks to star in the film. However, the rapper’s involvement has not been confirmed by anyone other than Fiddy himself.

Dekker made the announcement last year that he had finished his treatment of the script but things were fairly quiet on the Predator front for some time after that announcement. In the past few months alone, we have seen a teaser image released, a release date announced, and a flurry of casting announcements have been made.

When the project was first announced, it was rumored that this would be a direct sequel to the first film, ignoring everything that came after it. And Black’s most recent comments about the project all seem to confirm that.

Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for more on The Predator as it’s announced.
