In this episode we’re looking back at 2009 Splice!

Splice is directed by Vincenzo Nitali and stars Sarah Polley, Adrien Brody, Delphine Chaneac, and David Hewlett. Clive (Brody) and Elsa (Polley) are genetic engineers on the verge of global fame. Although they are instructed to stop any further progress on their latest controversial project, the two genetic engineers decide to proceed in secret. Their latest project is named Dren (Chaneac). She is groundbreaking, controversial, and unfortunately for Clive and Elsa, has a mind of her own. Initially amazed by Dren’s abilities, the relationship between Elsa and Clive begins to splinter as day by day the scientists lose control over their creation.

Led by brave performances from Sarah Polley and Adrien Brody, this 2009 flick is as fascinating as it is shocking. At the same time, the themes of this film are just as controversial and relevant today. Splice is for the horror fan that enjoys science fiction horror with a hip, modern edge.
