British filmmaker Andy Edwards is hardly one to beat around the bush, particularly when taking into account that he’s the man behind such shorts as Houseparty Of The Dead 5 and 6. Returning to the land of the un-dead once more, his debut feature Ibiza Undead does exactly what it says on the tin.
Following a group of youngsters, on the lads holiday from heaven/hell, the flick takes in comedy, horror and an on the nose cameo from Alex Zane (ask your friends across the pond) on its quest to be equal parts Dawn Of The Dead and The Inbetweeners.
A group of young people head to Ibiza for the holiday of a lifetime – all the sun, sea and sex they can handle. If only there wasn’t a zombie outbreak getting in the way.
Jordan Coulson, Homer Todiwala and Ed Kear play the central trio alongside Inbetweeners regular Emily Atack in the thankless hot sister role (though she does have fun later on as a zombie). Edwards directed from his own script and shot on location on the party island – much to the delight of his cast.
Wicked Horror caught up with Edwards at Frightfest 2016 to discuss his love of zombie movies, super-literal titles and whether his next foray into the world of the un-dead would follow in its predecessors footsteps, name-wise.
Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for the latest horror news and more must-watch interviews from Frightfest 2016, along with reviews of some of this year’s most anticipated movies.
