We have just learned that Fox has bumped their order for the small screen redux of The Exorcist from a pilot to a full series order. No word at this point on how many episodes the freshman season will consist of but we will keep you in the loop as we learn more about this currently developing project!
The image (below) features a look at Alfonso Herrera and Geena Davis in the upcoming small screen redux of the William Peter Blatty classic.
The series stars Geena Davis, Kurt Egyiawan, Hannah Kasulka, Brianne Howey, Alfonso Herrera, and Ben Daniels.
From what we’ve gathered, Brianne Howey will be playing the character that becomes possessed. The pilot was written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect). Rupert Wyatt will be assuming directorial duties on the first episode. The show is being described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.”
No word at this point on when the show will commence principal photography or exactly when we can expect it to make its debut on television. However, we expect it to be part of the network’s 2016 lineup. So, stay tuned for more news on this small screen adaptation and all of the latest horror news as it is relayed to us!
