Today marks the release of a brand new clip from Poltergeist. This excerpt sees Jane Adams (Hung) as a paranormal consultant. In the below, exposition heavy, clip, she attempts to explain the distinction between a classic haunting and a poltergeist. As always, we have it available for you to check out after the jump. So, head inside for your first look.
The forthcoming Poltergeist remake was originally planned for a theatrical release February 13 of this year. But the film’s debut was pushed back to May 22, 2015. The picture will be presented in 3D upon release. The wait is almost over but in the meantime, have a look at this brand new clip in the player below.
The remake is directed by Gil Kenan and written by David Lindsay-Abaire. The onscreen talent includes Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Nicholas Braun. The project is produced by long time collaborators Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert via the Ghost House banner.Like in the 1982 original, the core concept of a family’s youngest child being taken away by supernatural entities will remain a core plot point. But the concept has been updated for modern audiences in an attempt to try to improve upon some of the elements of the original film that may not have aged particularly well. We will keep you in the loop as more news is made available regarding this project.
