Telluride Horror Show in Colorado is one of those awesome, out-of-the-way horror film festivals that doesn’t attract nearly as much attention as it should.
This year, that may be all set to change as the first wave – that’s right, there’s even more to come – of films has just been announced and it’s a hell of a list.
The press release promises a selection of “films that delve into all the nooks and crannies of horror, from the supernatural to the super weird, from funny to frightening, art house to outrageous”.
The first-wave of movies includes Spring Break Zombie Massacre, “a hilarious horror comedy that also embodies a dream come true for two young guys who gathered the support of a community to make their movie”, RATS, Morgan Spurlock’s new documentary, boasting footage sure to “disturb even the most hardened horror fan”, The Eyes Of My Mother, the “dark, horrifying” debut feature from newcomer Nicolas Pesce, Terrifier, the feature version of the short of the same name that took Telluride by storm back in 2011, Richard Bates Jr.’s (Excision) much talked-about Trash Fire and the already infamous We Are The Flesh, along with must-watch indies Man Underground, Another Evil, The Girl With Two Faces, A Dark Song and Here Alone.
Elsewhere, 49 shorts are already confirmed to screen at the festival, with more still to be announced. And, for the first time since its inception, Telluride will also be welcoming acclaimed author Joe R. Tansdale (By Bizarre Hands, Writer Of The Purple Rage) to the fest to participate in a public reading, conversation and book signing over the weekend.
Telluride Horror Show 2016 runs from October 14th – 16th in Telluride, Colorado. Tickets for the festival can be purchased direct from the site.
