In keeping up with his reputation as the least subtle person of all time, Ryan Murphy has revealed that the theme for the seventh series of his ludicrously popular American Horror Story will be…the election.
Appearing on Watch What Happens Live, Murphy divulged that they’re due to begin filming in June. And, although the season don’t yet have a title (but it’s probably going to be American Horror Story: Election, to be fair):
the seasoN… is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people
Interesting is certainly one way of putting it. When pressed on whether the show could feature a President Cheeto-style character, Murphy teasingly replied with simply “Maybe”.
Series regulars, and fan favourites, Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are both slated to return for the seventh season.
Otherwise, details are slim but considering how (surprisingly) good of a job Murphy did with true-crime show The People Vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, this might bode well for the increasingly nutso AHS.
Watch the full clip with Murphy below for yourself (there might be more clues hidden underneath his facial expressions).
