Eli Roth will be providing an exclusive first look at his new cannibal shocker The Green Inferno tonight during Shark Week’s Shark After Dark. Shark After Dark airs at 11 PM July 5-9. Read on for more details on the film’s upcoming release after the break.
The Green Inferno will see a theatrical release September 25th via Blumhouse Tilt. As we previously reported, the flick was pulled from Worldview Entertainment’s release calendar at the last minute due to an issue with their former CEO’s commitment to provide $3.7 million for Prints and Advertising. Without that funding in place, the fate of The Green Inferno was left hanging in the balance. But with Blumhouse rescuing the film, all that is in the past, and we can now gear up to check out the film this fall!
The Green Inferno marks Roth’s first feature film directorial effort since Hostel Part II. He co-penned the screenplay with Guillermo Amoedo. The picture stars a bevy of regular Eli Roth collaborators, including Lorenza Izzo (Knock Knock), Ariel Levy (Aftershock), and Aaron Burns (The Stranger).
